Bespoke Media Units Designed & Built in Norfolk
A well-designed media unit can transform a living space, adding practical storage, clean lines and a truly fitted look.

Designed Around Your Space
No two homes are the same, especially across Norfolk and Suffolk where period properties, modern homes and extensions all bring different layout challenges.
Every media unit I build is designed specifically around the room — whether that means working within alcoves, framing a chimney breast, or creating a full feature wall that brings the whole space together.
- Fit seamlessly into alcoves
- Frame an existing fireplace or chimney breast
- Span an entire feature wall
- Hide cables and electronics
- Incorporate floating shelving
- Integrate warm LED lighting
- Provide practical hidden storage
The result is a media unit that feels built into the home rather than simply placed in the room.
Premium Materials & High-End Finish
A bespoke media unit should feel like a permanent part of the home rather than a piece of furniture added later. Careful material selection and a high-quality finish are what make that difference.
I build media units using durable sheet materials and professional finishing methods designed to create a clean, long-lasting result that looks right in both modern and period homes across Norfolk.
- Moisture-resistant materials for durability
- Precision joinery
- Soft-close hinges and hardware
- Adjustable shelving where needed
- Hand painted paint work for a smooth finish
The aim is always to create something that feels carefully crafted for the room, not simply installed into it.
Storage That Works for Modern Living
A media unit should do more than simply hold a television. When designed properly it becomes a practical storage solution that helps keep the living room organised and visually calm.
By incorporating cupboards, shelving and hidden cable management, a bespoke unit can accommodate everything from gaming consoles and routers to books, decorative pieces and everyday family items.
- Hidden storage for consoles and devices
- Shelving for books and decorative pieces
- Cupboards to keep everyday clutter out of sight
- Integrated Cable Management
- Space for speakers and media equipment
- Balanced storage and display areas.
Who Is This Ideal For?
Many homeowners across Norfolk and Suffolk want a living space that feels calm, organised and tailored to their home rather than filled with off-the-shelf furniture.
A bespoke media unit is ideal for those who want a fitted, built-in appearance, quality materials and a design that suits the character of the room.
- Want a fitted, built-in look rather than free-standing furniture
- Value, craftsmanship, and a high-quality finish
- Are improving or renovating their living space
- Want furniture designed specifically for their room
- Prefer a tailored result without luxury showroom pricing

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a bespoke media unit cost in Norfolk?
The cost of a bespoke media unit varies depending on the size, layout and finish of the project. As a general guide, most bespoke media unit projects fall somewhere in the region of £2,000 to £5,000, depending on the design and level of detail involved.
I’m always happy to provide an initial estimate once I understand the space and the type of design you have in mind.
How long does installation take?
Installation time depends on the size and complexity of the unit, but most projects are completed within one to three days. Larger or more detailed installations may take slightly longer depending on the design and finishing requirements.
Can a media unit be built around an existing fireplace?
Yes and no.
Many media units can be designed to work around a chimney breast, with shelving, cupboards and display areas built into the surrounding alcoves to create a balanced, fitted look.
However, if the fireplace is still operational and used for real fires, cabinetry cannot be installed directly around it due to the potential heat and fire risks. In these situations, one option is to redesign the space by removing the existing fireplace and incorporating a new integrated electric fire within the media unit itself. This approach allows the furniture and fireplace to be designed together as one cohesive feature, creating a clean, built-in result while maintaining a safe and practical installation.
Each space is slightly different, so the best option is to get in touch to discuss your project.
Can the design be tailored to the style of my home?
Every project is designed individually, so the layout, proportions and finish can be adapted to suit the character of the room. Whether the home is modern or more traditional, the aim is to create furniture that feels naturally part of the space.
Do you only work in Norfolk & Suffolk?
Most projects are completed for homeowners across Norfolk and Suffolk, although I’m happy to discuss projects slightly further afield depending on the scope of the work.
Discuss Your Media Unit Project
If you’re considering a bespoke media unit for your home, I’d be happy to discuss your ideas and the space you have in mind. Every project begins with a conversation about how the furniture should work within the room.
Once I understand the layout and the type of design you’re looking for, I can provide an initial estimate and talk through the next steps.
